2023-05-11 New feature: Apply an exclusion rule by segment to control the participation in a stage of the promotion. Follow
A new feature has been implemented in the platform, to allow the promotion administrator to have more control over the participation in their promotions.
Specifically, the option allows to exclude users based on the segment to which they belong. In this way, the promotion administrator can apply:
- Inclusion rules. Allows you to select one or more segments, to open participation to a specific group of users. The user must belong to one of the selected segments. Other users will not be able to participate in the promotion stage.
- Exclusion rules (NEW). Allows you to select one or different segments, to close participation to a specific group of users. Users belonging to the selected segments will not be able to access and participate in the stage. The user must not belong to any of the segments to be able to participate.
To have greater control over participation, the two types of rules can be combined, so that inclusion rules and exclusion rules can be applied within the same stage.
Note: In case of combining include and exclude rules, the user must comply both with the inclusion AND the exclusion rule.
Below we show a concrete example with the application of an exclusion rule and an inclusion rule by segments:
Case study
The organizer wants to offer a promotion valid for all users of the "VIP" segment who do not belong to the new customers segment "NEW" .
Only users who belong to the "vip" segment but who in turn do not belong to the "new" segment will be able to access the stage and participate in it.
To do this, the following steps must be followed:
1. Access the Editor > Pages > Participation stages > Segments section, check the option "Users must belong to one of the selected segments", and then select the segment.
2. Next, check the option "Users must not belong to any of the selected segments" and then select the segment.
The message that users who access the promotion and do not comply with the applied rules will see can be customized:
Note: The User Segments functionality is only available for customers with an active White Label or Corporate plan. The Individually activated White Label promotions do not have access to the User segment system.
