Here we explain all the steps to create your game.
Step 1. Create the game
1. Access the Easypromos Dashboard. Log in with your email address and password to manage and create your promotions.
2. Click the ‘Create new promotion’ button to start setting it up.
3. You'll see a list of available products. You can choose between the games that Easypromos offers you. In particular, in this tutorial we explain the following games:
- Puzzle
- Word Search
- Match it
- Memory
- Hidden Objects
- Minesweeper
- Slide & Match
4. As a next step, set up the following options:
- Organizing brand. As a first step, you should select or create an organizing brand for your promotion. This organizing brand is independent of any social network and works as a folder within your Easypromos account, in order to help organize the promotions that you create.
- Template version. Select which template you want to use to create your promotion: Basic, Premium or White Label.
5. After clicking on the "Continue" button, you'll get access to the promotion management page. This is where all the options for configuring the promotion are laid out. The most important sections are outlined below:
- Header. This displays the title of the promotion, the platform you have chosen, and other relevant information such as the promotion ID. You'll also see your Promotion status in the small orange box. This indicates whether your promotion is Active, Draft or Old, as well as if it’s about to start. Once the promotion period has ended, this field will be marked in red, and you'll be able to decide how the expired link to the promotion will appear.
- Link to the promotion. This is the URL that you should use for sharing and publicizing the promotion. (You can learn more about URLs for sharing here.) You'll also see the Copy link button. This automatically copies the URL for you to share.
- Activate Promotion button. When the promotion is ready to launch, click this button to activate it. You'll be taken to the activation page, where you can review your billing information before making the payment for the promotion.
- Test mode. This tool will allow you to carry out a real test of the promotion before activating it, in order to participate in it as users will when it is activated and thus be able to check that the promotion works as expected before launching it. More information.
- Side menu. All your promotion settings in one place.
- View tutorial. This tutorial guides you through creating and managing your promotion, step by step.
- Here you will find the following configuration options:
- Set the date and timezone for the promotion.
- You can set and change the default languages of the promotion.
- Finally, you can limit participation to one or more countries with the localization tool.
- Next steps: Practical suggestions for the creation and management of your campaign.
Note: The promotion ID number is a unique identifier for each promotion. If you have any issues, use the promotion ID when you contact the Easypromos support team. This will make it easier for us to help you out.
Step 2. Set the Game
The next step is to create the game that you want to include in your promotion. To do so, you should access the Editor > Pages, where you will see the page corresponding to the kind of game you’ve chosen in Step 1.
Here we explain the details of each type of game that you can set up:
1. Puzzle
As a first step, go to the Editor > Participations > Puzzle. You will see that a puzzle game is set up as a sample so you can see how to configure it and thus be inspired to design your own game. You can use the "Test the game" tab to test the user experience when playing:
Next, go to the "General" tab where you can first customize the following layout options where the game will be presented:
1. Introduction message: This is the message that will be shown above the game board. You can use this text to give the users instructions if necessary.
2. "Upload media": Click this option to upload the image that you want to turn into a puzzle. The recommended size is 800x800px.
Next, click on the "Gameplay settings" tab, where you will find the following options:
- Level. Choose the difficulty level of the puzzle: Easy, Medium or Hard.
- Show help. If you check this option, the system will show the complete image during a few seconds upon loading the board.
- Time limit. You can establish a maximum time that you want to give the users to finish the puzzle (30 to 300 seconds).
- Limit moves. You can establish a maximum amount of moves that the user gets to solve the puzzle (between 10 and 50).
- Option "Don't allow users to register until they complete the game": It allows to disable the promotion registration form in case the participant does not complete the game. Note: This option is only available in case of not enabling the Login system to participate.
In the "Instructions" tab you can upload an image to explain to users the steps they must follow to play.
Finally, in the "Test the game" tab, you can test the puzzle before publishing, and make changes if necessary.

2. Word Search
As a first step, go to the Editor > Pages > Participation > Word Search. You will see that a word Search game is set up as a sample so you can see how to configure it and thus be inspired to design your own game. You can use the "Test the game" tab to test the user experience when playing:
Next, go to the "General" tab where you can first customize the following layout options where the game will be presented:
1. Introduction message: This is the message that will be shown above the game board. You can use this text to give the users instructions if necessary.
2. Words to search: Here you can see the sample words that the wordsearch includes by default. In order to add the words, first remove the words that come by default with the sample. You can add up to 15 words, and they should have a minimum of 2 characters.
When you’ve added the words, you will find the following configuration options:
1. Minimum number of columns that the game board will have (minimum 12, maximum 20).
2. Theme: can be light (by default) or dark.

- Latin.
- Arabic.
- Cyrillic.
- Hebrew.
- Greek.
- Emoji (includes the 30 most used emojis).
- Hieroglyphic.
- Custom alphabet.
With the option "Add characters to the alphabet", you can add characters that are not included by default, for example:
- The "Latin" alphabet does not include, by default, some special characters, numbers or special signs. You can add them in this field to use them in the word Search. In this way, you will be able to challenge your audience with a 'mathematical operations' word search 😀
💡 Click on the option "View characters included in the game" to check the characters that are included by default in the different predefined alphabets. If you, for example, choose to create a Word Search game with the "Emoji" alphabet, you can check which emojis are included by default, to know which additional emojis you'd like to add according to the theme of your Word Search:
- The "Emoji" alphabet includes the 30 most used emojis, which are:
This way, if you want to add more emojis, apart from the 30 predefined ones that we provide, you can add them in the text field:
4. Custom alphabet: This option allows you to add your own characters to create your own alphabet. You can add the desired characters from the "Add characters to the alphabet" option. In the screenshot below, only fruit and food emojis have been added in this field, in order to propose an only food word search to challenge users to find the proposed food combinations:
5. Selection color: By default, the color of the word selection is green but the administrator can change the color as they wish to adapt it to, for example, the corporative colors of the company or brand:

4. Areas: The next step is to mark where the hidden objects are in the image. To do so, you need to create what we call “search areas”, which are where the user can click on the image to mark the hidden objects they’ve found. To mark the hidden objects in the image, first of all remove the areas that were enabled with the predefined image so you can add your own areas:
Once you have removed the areas, click on the image to create different clickable areas (these will not be visible to the participants):
You can:
- Add as many areas as you want.
- While creating, you can edit the shape of each area and move it around. Once created, it’s only possible to edit the name of the area, and you can delete areas and create new ones.
- Add a name to the area so users can identify what to search for in the image.
Next, click on the "Gameplay settings" tab, where you will find the following options:
- Display legend. You can check this option to show the name of the area that you have created to give the participants hints on what to search for.

2. Icon: You can upload your own icon to represent the flags on the board. We recommend uploading a 250x250 image in transparent PNG format. Below you can see an example of a custom flag icon:
Next, click on the "Gameplay settings" tab, where you will find the following options:
- Grid size: Set the number of squares that the game board will present.
- Number of mines: Set the number of mines you want to hide in the game.
💡 The number of squares on the board together with the number of mines will determine the level of difficulty that the game will have, so you can adjust the difficulty by playing with the values of these two options.
- Time limit: You can establish a maximum time that you want to give the users to finish the puzzle (30 to 300 seconds).
- Option "Don't allow users to register until they complete the game": It allows to disable the promotion registration form in case the participant does not complete the game. Note: This option is only available in case of not enabling the Login system to participate.

Finally, in the "Test the game" tab, you can test the puzzle before publishing, and make changes if necessary.
7. Slide & Match
To begin with the customization of your Slide & Match game, go to the Editor of the promotion > Pages > Participation > Slide & Match > Slide & Match tab. Upon accessing, you will see that a sample game is configured so that you can see how to configure it and thus be inspired to design your own game. You can use the "Test the game" tab to test the user experience when playing:
Then go to the "Gameplay settings” section, where you can configure the following sections of the game:
- Level. There are three different levels of difficulty. These difficulty levels establish a number of movements and a recommended time limit.
- Moves to achieve. You can select the number of movements that the participant will need to make (between 5 and 50).
- Time limit to achieve the moves: You can customize the maximum time that the user will have to perform all the required moves (between 30 and 300 seconds).
- Items. You can upload the different elements that the users will play with and combine. The images should have a 100x100p format. Depending on the difficulty chosen, the number of elements will vary (a maximum of 7). You will be able to edit the name of each of the elements as well as the score given to the user for combining that element.
- Background color. You can choose the background color of the container of the elements.
In the "Instructions" tab you can upload a header image and you will see the following indications:
- Instructions. Explanation of the actions that the user must take to get points.
- Your challenge. The number of movements that the participant must carry out and the time they have to carry them out.
- Game items. You will be able to see the different elements of the game plus the score of each one of them.
- Combos with Bonus. The different combinations that will give the participant extra points.
Finally, in the "Test the game" tab you can test the game before publishing the promotion.
Step 3. Customize the score screen
In the "Score screen" section you can customize the colors and texts that will be displayed on the screen that the user will access after completing the game, which allows the user to be shown a summary of their game with the score achieved. This screen is divided into:
- OK screen: It is the screen that is displayed when the user finishes the game in the established time.
- KO screen by time: It is the screen that appears when the user has run out of time and has not been able to complete the game.
In this way, for each of these screens you can customize the following elements:
- "Feedback message text": Message displayed at the top of the screen, which by default comes with the text "Good job!" in the case of "OK screen" and "Time's up!" on the "KO screen by time".
- Background Color: The administrator can set up the background color of both screens to adapt it to the corporate colors of the brand.
Step 4. Participant registration system and multi-participation
In order to participate in the game, users must register by filling in the registration form with the requested data.
To do this, go to the Editor> Pages> Registration Form, to customize the fields that you want to ask users to be able to participate:
Check the tutorial where we explain how to configure the promotion registration form.
Additionally, you can enable the Login system, which has the following features:
- It allows to require the users to register first before participating in the promotion. It's possible to identify with a Facebook profile, a Google account or an email address. If it's the first time the user registers, they will have to complete the registration form and accept the terms & conditions and privacy policy of the promotion.
-
It gives the option of enabling multi-participation in the games and the administrator can that way add even more gamification and competition to the promotion since they can decide the number of participations they want to grant to each user, in the entire promotion, per day, or per hour.
Check in this tutorial how to enable Login and how to configure multi-participation.
Step 5. Publish the Ranking page
Additionally, you can publish the Ranking page to show the points achieved by the participants:
Note: To enable the Ranking page you must activate the Login system. It means that users will need to identify themselves and fill out the registration form before they can play. Read more about how a game with the Login system works.
3. Customize the design and finish the settings
Once you have configured the Timed Quiz, the next step is to finish the configuration of the other options of the promotion, such as customizing the design template with your own colors and texts, introducing the legal bases, the viral content settings, etc. Check the tutorial to finish the configuration and customization of your promotion.
4. Manage scores and publication of winners
By default, the system will assign a score to the participants when they finish the game. The scoring system works like this:
1. For each correct move, the system will assign 100 points. The correct moves are considered:
- Puzzle: Solving the whole puzzle.
- Memory: Each matching pair of cards.
- Match It: Each pair matched.
- Word Search: Each word found.
- Hidden Objects: Each object found.
2. In the case of the Minesweeper game, it will assign the user 10 points for each square discovered without a mine.
3. In the Slide & Match, different points can be assigned to each element. Available scores are 10, 20, and 50 points for each item combined. In addition, the score can be multiplied by 2 if the user manages to combine a T or L of the same element and by 3 if the user gets a cross of the same element.
4. The system will assign bonus points for the time remaining, 10 points for each remaining second.
Example: A user has solved the puzzle 15,7 seconds before the time limit. The user will get the following points: 100 points for completing the puzzle + 157 points for the remaining time.
How to publish the winners
Easypromos provides a complete Prize and Winners Management system that will allow you to create the prize or prizes that you want to give to the users who participate in the game, as well as configure how you want to assign the prizes and select the winners.
Specifically, you have two ways to assign the prize to the winners, depending on your preference:
1. Assign the award to the player in the first position of the Ranking. In this case, follow the steps of this tutorial that explains how you can assign the prize to the fastest player.
2. Carry out a giveaway among the users who have obtained a higher score. Follow the steps of this tutorial that explains how you can create the prize to be raffled among the players with the highest score, for example, the 5 players with the most points.
3. Carry out a draw among all the users who have participated in the game. Follow the steps of this tutorial to create the prize and raffle it among all the participants.
