As of May 13, 2021, the YOUTUBE GIVEAWAY application is no longer available in Easypromos because it is not strictly compliant with the YouTube developer policy.
Specifically, point F.3 is not met. of the terms of Service of the YouTube API , which indicates:
API Clients must not offer or provide incentives, rewards, or other compensation to users for engaging with YouTube Applications (directly or indirectly) by performing actions like viewing content, liking content, sharing content, subscribing to channels, adding comments.
The YOUTUBE GIVEAWAY application allowed our clients to import the comments of a video from a YouTube channel and to be able to select a random winning user to give away a prize. The tool therefore does not comply with the policy as it enables our clients to incentivize comments on a video.
Easypromos’ priority is to guarantee the security of our clients' data and protect their interests. Our commitment is to develop and offer tools that strictly comply with the legal framework of a promotion, so that our clients can design promotional actions with total confidence, and this includes the specific policies in the Terms and conditions of social networks.
Easypromos is a company certified by ISO 27001 and ISO 271018 policies, which is why annual audits are carried out by a third party, which includes a complete review of the platform's legal framework to detect any non-compliance, such as the YOUTUBE GIVEAWAY.
As a result of this legal notification, we recommend our clients not to carry out sweepstakes on YouTube based on comments, likes or sharing a video. Although the YouTube Terms of Service is designed for application developers, we believe that the nature of the standard is applicable to content creators: not incentivizing engagement actions on a video.
