2025-10-14 - Improvements in the automatic validation of receipts with AI Follow
The automatic validation of purchase receipts with the help of Artificial Intelligence allows the promotion administrator to ask the user to upload an image of their receipt to validate that the purchase is valid and grant access to the promotion dynamic: entering a prize draw, spinning a prize wheel, trying to answer quiz questions, or completing a skill-based game.

To make receipt validation even more complete and efficient, we’ve implemented new features to the tool. Specifically, the applied changes include the following improvements:
New option: Create conditions and prohibited tags
Option to create additional fields on the Requirement screen to complete information

Improvements in the manual validation process of purchase receipts:
1. New option: create conditions and prohibited tags
The administrator can now create negative conditions to automatically reject receipts uploaded by customers that do not meet the terms of the promotion. This new option allows receipts generated in a specific location or store to be excluded from the promotion, as well as rejecting receipts that include specific products (alcohol, tobacco, etc...).
When reading and analyzing the image uploaded by the customer, the system detects that the negative condition has been met, and therefore the receipt is automatically rejected, without going through a manual review process by the administrator.
Three types of conditions can be created:
- Prohibited article tag: allows the exclusion of all receipts that include one or more specific products. To apply this condition, the administrator must first create a new Article Receipt tag, where all prohibited products will be specified and listed.
- Prohibited store tag: allows the exclusion of receipts generated in one or more specific stores. To apply this condition, the administrator must first create a new store Receipt tag, where the details of the stores excluded from the promotion can be specified and listed.
- Prohibited location tag: allows the exclusion of purchase receipts generated in one or more specific locations. To apply this condition, the administrator must first create a new location Receipt tag, where the list of locations excluded from the promotion can be added.
For each prohibited tag created, it is mandatory to confirm a public reason for the rejection: this corresponds to the message that the customer will see when their purchase receipt is rejected for including a prohibited item, store, or location.
2. Option to create additional fields on the Requirement screen to complete the information
In addition to uploading an image of their purchase receipt, customers can now be asked to provide more information about their participation by adding additional fields in the "Requirements" tab.
The information requested on this screen must be filled out for each participation. For each uploaded purchase receipt, the customer will need to fill out the configured fields again:
3. Improvements in the manual validation process of purchase receipts
To help the person responsible for moderating purchase receipts verify whether receipts are valid or not more easily and efficiently, two changes have been made to the manual moderation tool:
- New "View AI output" button: allows the moderator to access the information from the receipt as read by the Artificial Intelligence, and compare it with the image of the receipt.
- The "Improve Tag" button replaces the "Refine Tag" button: the moderator can more efficiently access and edit the receipt validation conditions by adding new text to the tag when detecting a valid phrase or word included in the purchase receipts that was not initially considered when setting up the promotion.
The Receipt tag can be edited:
- Selecting the line on the receipt with the product information: in this case, the moderator simply needs to select the line corresponding to the valid product or information on the receipt in field 1 before validating and adding the new value to the receipt tag.
- Manually: the administrator will type the text to be validated in field 2 before saving the new value and phrase to be validated in the receipt tag.
Once the tag has been updated, the customer's receipt can be reprocessed before validation (or rejection, if it does not meet all the promotion conditions).
Example: The receipt tag was created with the wording "Cookies" to validate the purchase of this product. When reviewing a customer's receipt, the moderator notices a receipt with the phrase "Choco Chips", which is also considered valid. They can go to "Improve Tag" to add the newly detected valid phrase before reprocessing and validating the receipt.
