Video - Integrations - How to create a Facebook application so that users will be able to share your promotion using a domain of your own Follow
When creating a promotion, by default the system uses Easypromos' own domain for sharing actions on Facebook. This way, when a user clicks on the "Share" button of the promotion, the Easypromos domain is used for it to work correctly.
However, if you use your own domain or subdomain - different from Easypromos - for the promotion (option available for promotions created in the White Label version), it will be necessary to carry out an additional action for the Share action to work correctly. Otherwise, when the user tries to share the promotion on Facebook, the following error message will appear:
How to solve it?
To avoid Facebook returning this error to users, it will be necessary to create your own app in the Facebook Developers environment, and configure your own domain, the one that your promotion is using, in this application. The application needs to be created as a “Consumer app”, and you will be requested to inform the privacy policy and data deletion links. Once the app is generated, as the last step, the Facebook app will be linked to your promotion. In this way, when users share the promotion, Facebook will use the created application and, therefore, will use the domain configured in the promotion, so the Share action will work correctly.
In the following video we show your the process to create your own app in the Facebook Developers environment, and how you can link it to your promotion so that it can be shared correctly on Facebook:
