2022-11-11 - New option: Disable IP controls in voting Follow
By default, the voting contests organised with the platform incorporate a complete fraud control system with different security measures, to control the votes received in the contest and ensure transparency in the voting, minimising malpractice and fraud.
One of these security measures is voter IP control, which controls the frequency and number of times voters are allowed to vote in the contest from the same IP address.
However, the very nature of the contest may require the removal of this security check, so that users do not experience restrictions when voting in the contest. This may be the case for private competitions, for example an internal company competition, where IP control is not necessary.
To offer a solution in such cases, a new option has been added, within the section of voting configuration of the contest, in the Gallery section of the editor, which allows to disable IP controls.
Important: This option is only recommended in competitions organised in closed environments where it is not necessary to control the IP of voters. It is not advisable to enable it in competitions with public votes, in order to ensure the correct functioning of the anti-fraud system of the platform.
The option to disable IP controls can be found in the Editor of the contest > Gallery > Votes:
Note: This option is available in the following applications: Photo contest, Writing contest, Video contest, Mention+Hashtag, Hashtag+Registration, Pick your favorite, Scenarios and Photofun.
