This feature is very useful when you want participants to respond using a specific hashtag, as you can view all the hashtags used and conduct the giveaway only among participants who have used one or more specified hashtags.

Note: The detection of hashtags used by users in comments is limited to giveaways with a maximum of 10,000 comments.

1. What Can You Do with Hashtags?

If you ask participants to include one or more hashtags in their comments, Easypromos will automatically identify all the hashtags used.

From this information, you can:

• See which hashtags participants have used.
• Know how many participants have used each hashtag.
• Filter participants by one or more hashtags.
• Conduct a giveaway only among participants who meet that criterion.

2. How Does It Work?

Once you have imported the comments from the post, go to the "Detected Hashtags" section.

In this section, you will find a list of all the hashtags detected in the comments, along with the number of participants who have used each one.

From this same screen, you can select one or more hashtags to filter the participant list before conducting the giveaway.

3. Usage Examples

Below are some examples of promotions where using hashtags can help you categorize participants and conduct segmented giveaways.

Example 1. Conduct a Survey

You can pose a question and instruct participants to respond using a hashtag to represent their choice.

For example:

What’s your favorite ice cream? Comment with your ideal flavor using a hashtag and enter to win 1 year of free ice cream 🍦🍦

Later, you can see how many participants chose each option and conduct a giveaway only among those who responded with a specific hashtag.

Example 2. Organize a Pool or Prediction

Another option is to ask participants to post their prediction using a hashtag.

For example:

Which team do you think will win the game?

Once the event is over, you just need to filter by the hashtag corresponding to the correct result to select the winners among those who guessed correctly.

Example 3. Promote a Video or Content

You can also use hashtags to encourage interaction with a video or post.

For example, you can ask participants to watch a video and answer a question using a hashtag that identifies the correct answer.

This way, you can easily select participants who answered correctly.

4. How to Filter Participants by Hashtag

To conduct the giveaway only among certain participants, follow these steps:

1. Go to the "Detected Hashtags" section.

2. Select the hashtag(s) you want to include.

3. Then, you can proceed with the next steps to finalize the giveaway. 

The system will only consider participants who meet the selected filter.

Additionally, in the next giveaway section, you can select the option "Exclude users with more than one hashtag" so that participants who commented using both hashtags won’t enter the giveaway.
