From May 1, 2026, the Manual Ticket Validation requirement will be replaced by the Upload an Image requirement.

From that date, receipt validation will only be carried out via AI-powered automatic validation, a more robust solution for detecting fraud and duplicates.

What changes?

Currently, in the participation stages of a promotion, there are two requirements with the same goal: validating purchase receipts.

• Manual receipt validation (current method being deprecated).
• AI-powered automatic validation (recommended and future method).

Starting May 1, 2026, the Manual Ticket Validation requirement will be replaced by the new Upload an Image requirement. Users will need to upload an image in order to participate in the corresponding stage. The option to pre-moderate the image and apply OCR rules will be removed.

If you want users to upload photos of purchase receipts, we recommend using the AI-powered Ticket Validation requirement, as it provides a more reliable and secure system to detect fraud, duplicates, and reused tickets.

AI-powered automatic validation also includes a manual receipt review system.

Why is this change being made?

The manual validation utilizes traditional OCR-based receipt reading technology, which has limited fraud detection.

In high-volume campaigns with instant prizes, this approach can have problems effectively detecting:

• Duplicate or reused receipts.
• Very similar images of the same receipt (same receipt photographed multiple times or with small variations).
• More sophisticated fraud attempts.

To improve security, validation reliability, and result consistency, Easypromos is moving to AI-powered automatic validation.

Benefits of AI-powered automatic validation

AI-powered automatic validation provides a more robust and reliable system for "Buy & Win" promotions, including:

• Better detection of duplicates and similarities.
• Higher effectiveness against fraud and receipt reuse.
• Structured extraction of all receipt data.
• Detection of product lines: description, references, units, and amount.
• Creation of complex validation rules based on receipt values.
• Creation of complex prize assignment rules based on receipt values.
• More consistent and scalable results.
• Premoderation system to enforce manual receipt review when necessary.

Who is affected?

This change only affects promotions using the Manual receipt validation requirement.
If your promotion already uses AI-powered automatic validation, no action is needed.

What should you do?

If you are using manual validation in your promotions:

• If you have an active promotion that continues beyond May 1, 2026, the requirement will continue to work as usual, and you don’t need to do anything.
• If you have a scheduled promotion with manual validation that ends before May 1, 2026, you can still use it.
• If you have a scheduled promotion with manual validation that ends after May 1, 2026, we recommend setting it up with AI-powered automatic validation from the beginning. Contact our support team for guidance.
