2026-03-11 – New Improvements in Instagram Automations Follow
We've added two new improvements to the Instagram Automations system that allow greater control over when bot automations are triggered and improve the personalization of messages sent to users.
The new features are:
Filter automations by post, reel, or Story.
New
{username}smart tag to personalize direct messages.
1. Filter automations by post, reel, or Story
In automations based on keyword triggers in comments or Story replies, you can now limit the automation to activate only on specific content from the Instagram profile.
For example, you can select a specific post on the Instagram account so that the automation is triggered only if the system detects the keyword in that particular post.
With this new option, you can choose exactly where the keyword should be detected, ensuring the automation is triggered only on the selected posts or Stories.
This configuration is done from the "Step 1 – Trigger" tab. After selecting where the trigger word should be detected (in comments, direct messages, and/or Story replies), the system will, by default, monitor the keyword in any of these contents.
To do this, click "Change" in the section where the content participating in the action is defined:
The administrator can select the posts or stories that, if the user interacts with them, will trigger the automation:
Note: It is currently possible to select up to a maximum of 10 posts or reels and 10 Stories.
2. New smart tag {username} to personalize direct messages
We've also added the ability to use the smart tag {username} in messages sent by the automation.
This allows you to personalize direct messages with the Instagram username of the person receiving the response.
To add this smart tag, go to "Step 2 – Messages" in the automation, click on SMART TAGS, and select "Username" to insert it into the message.
Once added, when the user receives the automatic message, the system will replace the smart tag with their Instagram profile name, creating a more personalized message.
