2023-05-29 - New customization and management options for the design templates of your promotions Follow
Last February, on the 20th, we applied an update in the platform that included a re-design of the administration panel.
This update was the first phase of a strategic project, which aimed to increase efficiency in our programming as well as reliability and safety in all related processes.
Today we begin the second phase of the project, focusing now on the public part of the promotions. Indeed, an update was uploaded today that offers administrators new customization options for the promotion’s design and a new functionality for creating and managing design templates.
Below we detail all the new features that have been implemented in today’s update:

1. New design and customization options
We have restructured the Promotion Editor menu, and created a specific section called "Design". The section includes the design of the whole promotion, as well as its menu, the promotion footer and the header. In White Label promotions, you will also find the "Advanced" tab in addition to a "Template" tab for the creation and management of design templates.
1.1. “Appearance” section
This section now offers more customization options for template elements. Specifically:
- Text Blocks H1, H2, H3, P: allows you to customize the font color, font typography, font size, font body, spacing, alignment for each of the text blocks.
- Buttons: allows you to edit the colors, rounding, width, border, style when the user’s mouse passes over the item, font.
- Links: customize the color, underline, font, font style, and hover style.
- Form fields: you have control of the field title styles, as well as the visualization of the text within the field, the border and background color of the field.
- Background: the default background images are removed. You can upload a background image (horizontal and vertical), or define a background color, as well as apply textures.
- Container: you can define the background color of the container and apply a border, as well as control the margin and padding of the container.
- Layers: you can define the background and text color, as well as the action item color. All popups will follow these styles.
- Other customizable elements: edit the Text selection color, label colors (open, closed, coming soon), favicon image. You also have the option to display or not the profile image of the users.
1.2. "Typographies" tab
The "Typographies" tab allows you to define 2 fonts for the template. For each of the above elements it will be possible to define which of the two fonts applies.
1.3. "Colors" tab
New options are added to the "Colors" in order to present under the same subsection all the important colors of the promotion. By default, the same color will be applied to the different elements, but for each individual element you can set a specific color and override the default color. In particular:
- Text color is maintained: it is the default text color that will be applied to text blocks and form fields. Important: customizing each individual element h1, h2, h3, P, you can overwrite this color.
- The main color is maintained: it will be the default color for buttons and links. Important: you can overwrite this color by customizing each individual element.
- (New) Select a hover color. It is the default color of the buttons and links when hovered over. Important: you can overwrite it by customizing each individual element.
- (New) Select the color of the container. It is the same color as the color inside the container tab, but given its importance it is also placed in this section.
- (New) Add a background color. It is the same color as the color in the background tab, but given its importance it is also placed in this section.
- (New) Error color. You can now select the color of the text when there is an error, such as a field left blank in the entry form. By default it is red, but it can be modified if needed,for instance if your background color is red and you want the error text to stand out.
Important: All these options are available for promotions created in the Premium and White Label versions. They are not available in BASIC version. The Basic Design extension is removed.
2. More customization options - Menu, header and Promo footer
These three sections are moved to the new "Design" menu of the Editor. These three sections are only editable for Premium and White Label promotions. The sections cannot be customized in the Basic version: the upgrade to the Premium version is necessary.
2.1. Header and menu
Configuration and customization options are expanded:
- Possibility to disable altogether the Header and menu
- Customize the background color or leave it transparent
- Customize the separator thread (color and thickness) or hide it.
- Decide if the header is fixed or not. If it is fixed it is always seen when the user scrolls. If it is not fixed, it will go up with the rest of the content.
- Indicate whether you want to display the logged user information or not.
- Define the styles of the header links: link color, etc.
- New header layout: wider, and with the option to put the company logo. It is the option of "header with logo".
- Customize all colors and styles of the menu as it will be displayed once the user has clicked on it to open it.
2.2. Footer
New options to customize the footer of your promotion were added:
- The footer can be disabled altogether.
- Customize the background color or leave it transparent.
- Customize the separator thread (color and thickness) or don’t show it.
- Possibility to upload a custom image in the promo footer. Useful to add logos of contributors or sponsors of the promotion.
- Define the styles of the promotion footer links: link color, etc..
3. New feature: Save your Design templates
Design templates are an exclusive feature for customers who have an active White Label or Corporate plan. This feature allows the account manager to customize the design of a promotion and save it as a unique template for the account agents. In this way, agents will be able to create a new promotion easily and in a few minutes, and use the same styles and design configurations than the template defined by the administrator, such as colors, fonts, titles and text blocks styles, button and link styles, etc.
Important Considerations:
- The functionality to create and update a Design Template is only available to customers with an active White Label or Corporate subscription
- Only account administrators can create, update and manage Design Templates.
- Agents who do not have the admin role may apply templates but not create or update them.
Classification of the templates:
- Global Account: these are the templates that an account manager created. Each template is available to apply to any account promotion. The templates are only managed by the account administrator.
- By account organizing brand: created by the account manager. The template is available and can be applied to any promotion of a specific organizing brand of the account. Only the account administrator can manage the templates.
- Easypromos generic templates: templates created by Easypromos. They are available in all promotions.
What elements are saved in a template:
- All design elements, configured in the "Appearance section".
- The footer design.
- Header and menu options and design configured.
- Your own CSS styles configured in the "Advanced” section.
Note 1: In case you have added your own CSS codes, when creating the template, you will see the option whether to include the CSS in the template or not.
Note 2: If you have a background image configured, when creating the template you can decide whether to include the image in the template or not.

4. New default design templates
We have created new default design templates for each of the platform’s promotion types and for each specific participation flow.
The new templates are designed so that you will have very few edits and changes to apply in the text when customizing a new promotion, to save time.
The features of the new default templates are the following:
- All have the same design template applied. Therefore, all will be the same when created.
- The new template is minimalist.
- All text blocks of all screens follow the same structure: <h>Title of the screen</h1> <p>short text</p>. In this way all introductory texts of each screen have the same font format and style.
- We have removed all descriptions with Emojis.
- All LOGO images were removed. We now incorporate neutral images that you can use for your promotion, or replace by your own image.
- Placeholders of the type [PRIZE], [DATES] in the texts of the promotion are removed.
- We have greatly simplified the default text.
5. New demos on the commercial website
New demos have been prepared on our website for each of the applications offered, so that you can preview the potential of the new customization options offered by the new Design module. These demos can be accessed and tested from the “Applications” page for each of the Easypromos available products.
6. New “Settings” menu replacing the “Utilities” menu
We have incorporated a new menu called "Settings" in your dashboard, which replaces and completes the "Utilities" menu.
The new menu is divided into different sections to present in an organized way the different tools available to you to manage your account:
- Account management.
- Utilities.
- Templates.
- Integrations.
- Easypromos.
