How to set up Widgets to avoid third-party cookie restrictions. Follow
The widget code of your promotion allows you to embed the promotion within any web page. The main objective of inserting the promotion widget on a website is for the entire participation experience to happen within the client's website. However, it is necessary to configure the widget correctly so that the participating user's experience is fully within the widget and without any type of incident.
Web browsers implement security controls and restrictions when external content is inserted into a website. One of the main restrictions is that they do not allow widgets to use cookies. In the case of promotions, the main consequence is that users cannot log in or register, because cookies are necessary to process correctly the login of the new user.
Below, we present an example of the screen that a user sees when trying to participate in the promotion from a widget that is not properly configured: in this case the web browser applies the security restriction and the user cannot register:
Solution 1 - RECOMMENDED: connect a subdomain to the promotion
This solution requires support from a computer technician who manages the DNS (company domain manager).
This solution consists of connecting a subdomain to the promotion that belongs to the domain of the website where the widget is inserted.
For example: if the client's website where the promotion is embedded is https://mycompany.com/xmas-contest/, you can use a subdomain of the type contest.mycompany.com to the promotion. In this case, web browsers will not consider the content of contest.mycompany.com as external content, and will not apply security restrictions, so the participating user's experience can be completed within the widget.

Attention: carrying out this solution requires support from a computer technician who manages the company's domain. This person must create a subdomain in the company's DNS. The tutorial explains the instructions that must be given to the technician.
IMPORTANT: to configure your own subdomain in the promotion, you must have an active White Label subscription, with available domain(s). It is not possible to add your own domain in promotions that use the Premium version or promotions that were activated individually.
Solution 2: Open Promotion Entry Outside of Widget
With this solution, participation does not happen entirely within the promotion widget. It is the fastest alternative in case you cannot apply solution 1, that is, connect a subdomain to the promotion.
This solution consists of presenting only the promotion's Welcome page within the widget: when the user click the button to participate, the registration or participation page will open outside the widget, that is, outside the client's website.
This way you can avoid browser security restrictions. To apply this solution, follow the two steps shown below:
1. Go to the Editor of the promotion > Welcome Page and verify that the promotion Welcome page is published. This solution will not work if the first page of the promotion is unpublished.
2. Go to Publication Resources > Widgets and select the “Open the participation page outside the widget” option.
Note: you can also select the option to “Open the participation page outside the widget (mobile only)”. In this case, if the user participates from a computer or desktop web browser, participation will happen within the widget. 90% of computers do not have security control, but 100% of mobile devices do.
