Completeness concept and system in Easypromos Games Follow
All game-type dynamics in Easypromos use the completeness system, which marks a stage as completed when the participant reaches the game’s goal. Each game has its own completion criteria (solving a puzzle in time, surpassing a score, answering a minimum number of questions correctly, etc.).
Thanks to this system, the administrator can apply custom rules, conditions, and filters depending on whether the user has completed each game or not.
In this tutorial, we explain in more detail how the completeness system works, what criteria the system uses to consider a game as completed, and what rules and conditions can be applied based on the completion status.
The present tutorial is organized as follows:
Introduction
Main features
What is considered a completed game?
Game behavior when marked as completed
Promotional dynamics based on completeness
How to check if a game has been completed
1. Introduction
All promotional games on the platform use the completeness system, which indicates that a participant has reached the goal of the game. In this way, after participating in the game—whether it's a Puzzle, a Word Search, a Match It, a Quiz, or any of the other available games— if the user completes the game, the platform marks the participation stage as completed for that user.
The condition of "completed" can vary from one game to another, as each game dynamic is different and, therefore, so is the objective. For example, the Puzzle game is considered completed if the user finishes and order all the pieces before time runs out; in the Tap Tap game, the user must exceed the target score defined by the administrator when the time is up; or in a knowledge Trivia, the participant must reach the minimum score set by the administrator by answering correctly to the questions.
We explain in more detail what criteria are used to consider each game as completed in the point 3 of this tutorial.
From here, a wide range of possibilities and functionalities are available that the administrator can apply based on the "completed stage" status, such as applying rules, conditions, or filters based on this state.
2. Main features
Below is a list of the main features of Easypromos' completeness system, which will be explained in detail in the following sections of the tutorial:
1. The completeness system is applied exclusively to game-type stages (for example, puzzles, memory, knowledge trivia, among others).
- Each game has its own objective that determines when it is considered completed.
- In the point 3 of the tutorial, the objective of each game is explained in detail.
2. When a participant completes a game:
- The platform marks the stage as completed for that user.
- A "completed" label appears in the stage list view.
- In multi-stage promotions, the administrator can upload a custom image to display instead of the default stage image, to let users know which stage(s) they already completed.
- The administrator decides whether the participant can play again or not once the game has been completed.
3. Rewards and dynamics linked to completeness
Different rules and conditions can be configured:
- Instant prizes: award an automatic prize ("On participation" or via "Instant Wins") only to users who have completed a game.
- Virtual coins: assign coins only to users who complete the game.
- Access to stages: restrict access to a stage until the user has completed one or more previous games.
- Sweepstakes: run a giveaway exclusively among users who have completed one or more games.
4. User visualization and management
To facilitate completeness tracking and user management, the platform offers several tools:
- Filter users who have completed a specific game or multiple games.
- Filter by number of completed games (e.g., users who have completed at least 2 stages).
- View each user's details, showing completed games.
- Export participations, with an additional column called "completed".
- Integration via Webhook, API, or Zapier, which includes the "completed" field for each participation.
3. What is considered a completed game?
The completeness property is only available for game-type stages. Below is the list of applications and the condition required to consider them completed:
Game Type | Objective to complete it |
Puzzle | Reorder all the pieces of the puzzle within the time limit. |
Memory | Find all pairs before time runs out. |
Match It | Correctly match all pairs within the time limit. |
Tap Tap | Surpass the target score defined by the administrator. |
Falling Objects | Surpass the target score within the set time. |
Free Kick | Score the defined number of goals before time runs out. |
Hidden Objects | Find all the objects within the set time. |
Slide & Match | Make the required number of moves by combining elements within the set time. |
The Tower | Reach the top level of the tower before time runs out. |
Word Search | Find all the words within the set time. |
Word Shuffle | Reorder the letters of all the words within the set time. |
Crossword | Solve the entire crossword before time runs out. |
Minesweeper | Open all tiles without triggering any mines. |
Knowledge Trivia | Answer correctly to the questions to reach the minimum score required to be considered completed. |
Quiz with Timer - Sudden Death | Answer all questions correctly. |
Quiz with Timer - Repeat round Quiz | Always marked as completed once all the questions are answered correctly. |
Quiz with Timer - Pop Quiz / Standard | Answer correctly at least the minimum number of questions defined by the administrator. |
4. Behavior of a game when marked as completed
When a user completes a game:
- A “completed” label is shown in the user's participation details.
- The administrator can upload a custom image to display when the game is completed.
- The administrator decides whether the participant can continue playing after completing the game.
4.1. Configuration options
Below we explain in more detail the two configuration options available to the promotion administrator.
Allow or block participation once completed
By default, a participant can continue playing if they have available entries. However, it can be configured so that, once completed, they cannot participate again.
This option is found in the configuration settings of the stage itself, as shown in the screenshot below:
If this option is enabled and the user has already completed the game, when attempting to play again they will see a “Game completed” informative message:
Note: This text can be customized using the Dictionary tool.
Customize the appearance of a completed stage
In promotions with multiple stages, the platform offers visual indicators to help users identify completed stages. These vary based on the stage listing design: mosaic mode or list mode.
Mosaic Mode
The administrator can upload a “Completed Stage” image, which will appear on the stage list page if the user has completed the game.
This image can be customized from the stage’s configuration settings, as shown here:
A “completed” label will also be displayed below the stage image by default, which the administrator can choose to hide. This option is found under the "Stages list page" tab, where the different design options are configured for the directory of stages:
List Mode
The “completed” label appears, and if replaying is not allowed, a ✅ green checkmark replaces the “Participate” link:
The administrator can modify the icon representing a completed stage using one of three options:
- Green check icon (default behavior).
- Upload a custom square image (150x150px).
- No icon.
This customization option is located in the Options section of the Stages list page tab:
5. Promotional dynamics based on completion
The completion system allows defining conditions and rewards based on whether the user has completed one or more games. Specifically, the following dynamics can be applied:
Direct prizes (“Upon participating” or “Instant Win”)
Assign virtual coins
Restrict access to a stage
Send an email upon game completion
Run a random draw
5.1. Direct prizes (“Upon participating” or “Instant Win”)
The administrator can create a direct assignment prize, either “On Participating” or through the “Instant Win” system, and condition the prize to be awarded only if the user has completed the game.
To do this, apply the delivery condition “Game completed” = “Yes”:
5.2. Assign virtual coins
The administrator can use the Virtual Coins system to reward users who complete the game. For example, awarding 1 virtual coin per completed game.
Once the virtual coins system is enabled, configure the coin assignment rule in the Participation section of the editor:
Note: Assigning virtual coins based on game completion is only available in the White Label version of the platform -A White Label or Corporate subscription is needed to activate the promotion, in this way.
5.3. Restrict access to a stage
The administrator can choose from various types of access requirements when configuring a stage. In multi-stage promotions, one such requirement type could be the completion of a previous game.
To do this, the administrator selects the stage (game) the user must complete before gaining access to the next one:
5.4. Send an Email Upon Game Completion
The administrator can create an email of the "Upon Participating" type, and condition its sending to having completed the game. This allows you to automate a message to all users who played and completed the game, while making sure that only users who completed it receive the email.
To do this, select the following condition in the recipients filter:
5.5. Run a Random Draw
The administrator can raffle a prize among all participants who have completed the game. To do this, access the promotion’s user manager and use the filter to obtain the list of users who have completed a game using one of the two following filter options:
- Users who have completed stage X, or stages X, Y, Z.
- Users who have completed a total of N stages.
6. How to view if a game has been completed
From the user manager of the promotion, the administrator has several tools to manage the information of completed/not completed games:
- Filter participants who have completed one or more specific games.
- Filter by the number of completed games (e.g., users who have completed at least 3 games in a promotion with multiple participation stages).
- View the participant’s details to check which stages they have completed:
- Export the promotion's participation list, which includes an additional column titled "completed."
- Integrate via Webhook, API, or Zapier, where the “completed” field is included in the participation data.
